Make an Investment in River Park: Join the RPNA

Your RPNA membership helps support the efforts that make our neighborhood a safer, more enjoyable place to live. Every membership dollar comes back to you in the form of family-friendly neighborhood events, community enhancement, and improved property values.
The River Park Neighborhood Association ( RPNA ) was established in January 1993 to "enhance the livability of the River Park area by establishing and maintaining an open line of communication with and acting as a liaison between the neighborhood, government agencies and other neighborhoods and associations." The RPNA is dedicated to providing "an open process by which members of the neighborhood may involve themselves in the affairs of the neighborhood."
The RPNA's recent accomplishments include:
Advocated against and ultimately reversed Regional Transits’ proposed elimination of bus service to River Park. The neighborhood actually received enhanced bus service in September 2005—despite service cutbacks in all other parts of the city. |
Worked with local, state, and federal officials to help secure 100-year flood protection for River Park, a change that resulted in hundreds of dollars in savings for every household in River Park |
Brought back favorite River Park neighborhood events, including the fall picnic and holiday light decorating contest. |
Persuaded Unocal Corporation to release for sale a Carlson Drive property that had been vacant for decades. |
Alerted the community to the dangers of a cougar near Erelwine Circle and coordinated with Department of Fish and Game officials to disseminate safety information. |

Supported the Night Heron-affected neighbors in securing City support for clean-up and active discouragement of nesting in River Park |
